Muddy Puppy Again!

Oops I did it again!
They keep telling me I'm still a little puppy, so can I help it if I like to puddle in the mud? The only problem is they wash me off when I get home, Yuk!
But today I was in a lot of trouble, real trouble, not just puppy trouble either, they said it was dangerous what I did and I could have been killed. Problem is I haven't got a clue what they mean?
If you are of a nervous type perhaps you had better not read this post, it's nasty!
Well it all started when we went out for my morning puppy walk, we have two favorite places, one in the forest where I can jump straight out of the car and run like mad (I like that place best).
Our other walk I have to go on the puppy lead while we cross a road to a field. Now I don't like the lead and I admit I play up, so they now put me on this awful extending lead while I'm still in the car, then they try to open the back and grab my collar. But this morning I was naughty I saw the back of the car open slightly and I slipped to freedom through this tiny gap. I thought I was such a clever puppy, but they grabbed my lead, only it was the extending part and the thin rope caught their hand and caused burning blisters on their fingers. I think it hurt them. I never meant to hurt them. Then they started screaming at me for being so naughty, they said if there had been a car in the car park I could have been killed. But the car park is always empty, not a popular place because you have to cross a road.
We still went on the walk, then I was being nagged because they say that I do not walk, I just lunge and lunge on this puppy lead. Well take it off then! I hear them say that school will make me walk on a lead, huh!
We came home and my injured family had to bandage two fingers, I felt bad,, I went outside to the garden, problem was to console myself I started chewing our garden bench. Oh dear they saw it.
What can you do when you are puppy teething, you have to chew anything, anyplace, all the time.
I'm sorry for this depressing post, I needed to warn other people to be careful with those awful extending leads. We puppies do not like them, we run ahead and you constantly yank us in the throat, so it would be better if everybody threw them away and just let us run free.
Please do not hurt your fingers.
I think they have forgiven me, they are coming with a tennis ball in their hands, they want to play, I must go, must play, must catch, must run..........

About the walking on a leash thing...my people say that some days I go "off into dogland" and don't have my mind on walking well. I have to agree. Those days I am just full of pep, and things smell particularly good to me, and things need to be chased. Well, I have news for them...some days THEY are "off in peopleland" and just don't want to have plain ol' fun. I really like it best when we each get coordinated at the same time. Those are fun walks!
It does get better as I am getting older. And if I behave, and don't pull TOO much, it means more cookies...
Sorry to hear about the hurt fingers. A big wet puppy lick for that.
